This exhibit used objects from the Des Plaines History Center’s collection that might normally be off-putting and staged them in a new light. Artifacts included a slice of wedding cake from the 1800s and a piece of hairwork art. Visitors were encouraged to vote for the “grossest,” “creepiest,” and “coolest” items on display and results were displayed on the History Center’s website.
